Seperate Maya3 Groups

Separates Maya OBJs into its original grouping.

The standard Maya 3 and earlier OBJ export combines all exported objects to one group in the OBJ file. When you open such an OBJ in EI it will come in as one single object. If you have OBJs created in Maya 3 or earlier you can check this box to separate them.

Ignore Maya Shading Groups

The OBJ format has a rarely used feature which is shading groups. With this you can give different polygon groups of an OBJ different shading attributes. Maya OBJs sometimes contain such shading groups that will cause OBJ2FACT to seperate the polygon meshes into these shading groups to enable the user to assign different shading attributes later in the EIAS. This may not be what you want since sometimes while dealing with materials in Maya such shading groups can be introduced to your object eventhough it was not intended. To still be able to get the OBJs over to the EIAS as one mesh use this option.
